Startup Your Music Career

We’re in a strange time for music. We have all the tools and all the tutorials, but having every answer at our fingertips often makes it harder to know which question to ask first. This book isn't about "hacks" or overnight success. It’s about building a structure that actually lasts, so you can spend less time feeling frustrated and more time in the flow.

Real-world Perspective

This comes from someone who’s been in the trenches since the late 90s—from the first wave of MP3 file sharing to London studio consoles and running an indie label. It’s a collection of lessons learned from the wins (like getting a track on Pete Tong’s label) and the quiet struggles of keeping the lights on in a creative business.

The "Inner Game"

Before the gear and the marketing, we start with the fundamentals:

  • The Self-Audit: Being honest about where you are and where you actually want to go.
  • Artistic Alignment: Making sure your daily work matches your long-term vision.
  • The "Startup" Mindset: Treating your career with the same methodical care an IT startup uses to solve problems.

Stay Tuned

I’m currently finishing the final chapters of the book and putting the finishing touches on this website. Once everything is ready, this space will become a hub for the book’s resources, "Story Time" highlights, and deeper dives into the chapters.
